There is a wicked twist to The Chase. We pursue money, power, and more, and we want to do it faster. But in the process, we lose out – we need air to breathe, we need time to grow and replenish. This is where we live, this is our home. In my paintings I create a world where trees become human. I give that world a voice, to help interpret nature and its processes, where it seems Nature can feel or tell time. I assign it a personality to create tension or to provide a story with imagery that is more easily understood. The outrageous thrill of globalization leads us to forget the basic truth – that without nature there is no humanity.
